Welcome to the Pennsylvania Grain Processing Seasonal Averaging Program

The growing season is hectic for producers, and grain marketing can get shifted to the back burner. Unfortunately, the time you are the busiest in the fields is often the best time to focus on marketing.

The Pennsylvania Grain Processing Seasonal Averaging Program allows our experienced merchandising team to shoulder some of that load for you. The PGP program allows you to turn over some of your marketing risk management to the professionals, while you concentrate your expertise and attention on your farm.

  • Results in a Dec 24 HTA
  • The program fee is 8 cents a bushel is included.
  • Any bushel amounts. We prefer 1,000 bu. units.

Your contract options

  • Set the basis and deliver at harvest.
    For example, a 4.75 ZC HTA +.20 basis = $4.95 at harvest
    OR
  • Roll to March, May or July and capture any carry and basis appreciation.
    For example, roll a 4.75 ZC HTA to March, gain 12 cents of carry (13 cents less a penny fee) add .25 basis for a final price of $5.12 for January 25 delivery.

The PGP Seasonal Averaging Program is a disciplined approach to grain pricing that allows you to capture seasonal rates at the most advantageous time of year. The program will price a portion of your grain based on a seasonal average from April 15 through July 15, 2024, when prices are likely to rise due to planting and weather risks. Deadline to sign up is April 10.
